April Ross

April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players who have earned medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third Olympic medal. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. At 39, this could be her last chance to win the gold medal at an Olympics. She remains optimistic that she will be able to win top awards. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister lived in the area. She was able to participate in many sports at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. She was definitely an edge over the other players in this latter game. When she played in her college volleyball season as per her college profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Together with Kessy Ross was awarded an Olympic Title in 2009 while competing in the international circuit. The duo took silver in London's Olympics. They were beaten out for the gold by the legendary duo of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball trophy in the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross began her college time with the Trojans at USC following her high school days. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross made her debut on the beach and became a professional. The Trojans had a great performance for Ross during her time at the school. The year 2000 was her freshman year. earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season however she was able to return in the ranks of an All-American. Over her final 2 seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship each year. In 2003-2004, she was named the best female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US through The Honda Sports Award. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the privilege of watching her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But she still keeps her parents close to her his heart. In addition, Margie remains a source of motivation for her at the beach and in life.
